Synopsis

SEVEN SINNERS

Marlene Dietrich sizzles opposite John Wane as sexy saloon singer Bijou Blanche, who’s as quick with a comeback as she is with a come on. Deported from every South Sea Island on which she’s ever performed, Bijou winds up in Boni Komba at the Seven Sinners Cafe, convincing the manager that she’ll break only hearts, not bar stools.

THE SPOLIERS

John Wayne and Marlene Dietrich star in this adventure classic about gold and greed in an Alaskan boomtown during the height of the gold rush in the 1890’s. Wayne is a virtuous ship captain, tricked out of his mine claim; Dietrich, the town’s sexiest saloon girl choosing between the honest captain and the charming no good kingpin played by Randolph Scott.

JET PILOT

John Wayne and Janet leigh star in the spy drama set during the Cold War. For an ace American Air Force pilot, frosty international relations begin to thaw as romance flickers with a very attractive lady from the wrong side of the iron curtain. Wayne sticks to his guns, but temptation and duty can sometimes be hard to reconcile.

Wayne plays rancher Taw Jackson, a man who’s dead set on capturing an ironclad stagecoach belonging to a cattle baron (Bruce Cabot), the man who stole his fortune and tarnished his good name. His crew, comprising Keenan Wynn, Howard Keel and Kirk Douglas among others, risk it all to pull it off.

Screen legend John Wayne pays tribute to oil field hero “Red” Adair, playing Chance Buckman, a colourful Texan who tames out of control infernos. Between blazes Chance ‘carries the torch’ for Madelyn, the wife who left him because of his dangerous lifestyle. Said Wayne: “I’ve made a lot of action movies, but never one as exciting as Hellfighters”.
