From acclaimed Spanish director Pedro Almodovar ALL ABOUT MY MOTHER is a delirious, baroque drama saturated with extreme characters, hilarious interactions and vibrant colours. Almodovar’s self-described “screwball drama” is as mad as anything he’s ever written. It’s the story of Manuela, a single mother, who after the tragic death of her beloved teenage son, goes to Barcelona in search of the father, Esteban, who has since has silicone implants and goes by the name of Lola. Manuela reunites with her old friend, transvestite prostitute la Agrado, finds work with the famous actress Humo Rojo and befriends a pregnant nun who charges her with raising her baby… bringing Manuela full circle. ALL ABOUT MY MOTHER is a dedication “to all actresses who have played actresses, to all men who act and become women, and to all the people who want to be mothers”.
